And the rest

The details are done.

Photos on the paper

Drop in diagrams, photos or screenshots. They float beside your map with captions and resize with a drag.

Links that bend

Drag any link out of the way and slide its label along. Words always stay on top.

Definitions on hover

Any topic that matches a key term shows its definition when you point at it.

Arrow keys, mid-thought

Hop between topics while typing. Blank branches tidy themselves away.

Paste a list, get a map

Paste notes from anywhere. Every indented line becomes its own branch.

Search everything

Find any topic or key term across every map in one keystroke.

Spots repeat topics

Write an idea twice and it’s flagged. Headings like “Diagnosis” are ignored, and you choose the rest.

Undo anything

Every change, even halfway through typing, is one ⌘Z away.

On every device

Mac, iPad, iPhone or any browser. Maps and key terms sync as you go.

Why it exists

Your mind already works this way.

Thoughts don’t arrive in tidy lists. They branch, loop back and connect, which is why mind maps are such a good way to learn. The problem is the software: in most mind-mapping apps, drawing the map takes longer than having the thought.

Silkworm Study is built to get out of the way. Type, press Tab or Return, and the map lays itself out as fast as the ideas come. Then link anything to anything, and test yourself on it.

Questions

Good to know.

What do I get in the beta?

Everything, free: unlimited maps, links, key terms and photos, plus AI definitions. When the beta ends, the free plan keeps three maps, Standard gives you 30 and Pro removes every limit.

Where are my maps saved?

During the beta, in your browser on the device you use. Nothing is sent anywhere except the terms you ask the AI to define. To keep a copy or move to another device, open the menu and choose Back up all maps, then Restore from backup on the other device. Accounts that sync across devices are coming.

What does the AI do?

On Pro, the AI writes key-term definitions for you. Leave a definition blank and press Return, or press = at the end of any topic on your map. Choose technical, moderate or plain wording, and low, medium or high detail. AI-written definitions are marked so you know which ones to check. Pro includes up to 1,000 AI definitions a month, far more than a heavy study week needs.

What can I use it for?

Anything where ideas connect: exam revision, lecture notes, essays and research, learning a language, or planning a project. If you’d sketch it on paper, it’s faster here.

Which devices does it work on?

Any modern browser on Mac, iPad, iPhone, Windows or Android. During the beta, each device keeps its own maps; Backup and Restore move them across.

Can I get my work out?

Yes. Copy any map or your whole glossary as clean text that pastes neatly into documents, flashcards or anywhere else.

Can I cancel anytime, once plans start?

Yes. Your plan runs to the end of the month or year you’ve paid for. Nothing is ever deleted: if you’re over the free limits, your maps stay open to read and copy, and you just can’t add more until you upgrade.

Your next exam, mapped.

Start with the topic you’re most worried about. It’s free while in beta.
